Peter Townley has extensive work experience in the field of project cargo and logistics. Peter started their career at Rothmans, Benson & Hedges Inc. as a Sales Rep from 1983 to 1987. Peter then joined Qantas in 1989, where they worked in cargo operations until 1995. From 1996 to 1998, they worked at DHL - SNAS DHL in Saudi Arabia. In 2000, they joined deugro - Projects Australia as the Regional Manager, responsible for creating new business and revenue growth in the Oil and Gas and Energy sectors. Since 2007, they have been the Managing Director at TGI Cargo, leading the company's new business efforts in the fields of Oil and Gas, Mining/Resources, Power Generation, and Infrastructure. Throughout their career, Mr. Townley has demonstrated strong negotiation skills, customer service, and expertise in managing high-value cargo projects.

Peter Townley attended Brisbane Grammar School from 1977 to 1981 but did not earn a degree or specialize in any field of study during this time. In 1981, they moved on to Narrabudah College for a year, where no degree or field of study is mentioned. In 2005, they pursued a Masters degree at Maritime College, specializing in Marine Business logistics, which they completed in 2006. In 2011, Peter obtained a Diploma in Ship Chartering and Brokering from Lloyd's Maritime Academy, with a focus on vessel chartering. In 2014, they acquired a Diploma in Project Cargo Management from PPG, specializing in Project Cargo. Additionally, Peter Townley obtained certifications in ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental, ISO45001 Safety, and QMS ISO 9001 2015 from Obsequentia Advisory and Consulting Services in July 2021.
