Knut Barstad

Knut Barstad is an experienced professional in marine operations and project management, currently serving as Director of Vessel Operations at TGS since February 2023, overseeing vessel teams for seismic operations. Previously, Knut held the Vice President Operations role at TGS with accountability for P&L in OBN projects. Knut also chaired the EAME committee for EnerGeo Alliance, addressing operational issues in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. At Magseis Fairfield ASA, Knut was Vice President of Marine Operations, overseeing global operations and client interactions. With a long tenure at PGS, Knut managed various roles including Vice President of Project Planning and Head of Project Planning, contributing to operational quality and financial optimization across multiple regions. Knut's early career included technical support at Esselte Group and engineering education, solidifying a comprehensive foundation in the industry.
