Robert Atac

Robert (Bob) Atac is Vice President & Chief Technology Officer for Thales Defense & Security, Inc., Bob will focus on technology-based solutions derived from the various parts of Thales and from within Thales Defense & Security, Inc.

Prior to his work at Thales and Visionix, Mr. Atac was the founder and President of Flight Visions, Inc. Flight Visions began as a head-up display (HUD) provider in 1986 and grew to provide full cockpit suites, including multi-function displays, controls, radios, and more. Flight Visions was purchased by CMC Electronics in 2002, and Mr. Atac was Vice President of Military Aviation before leaving in late 2004. Leveraging his extensive engineering background, Mr. Atac has written many technical publications and has been awarded a number of patents.

He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
