Joel Demarty

Joel Demarty is an accomplished professional in the field of cybersecurity and telecommunications, currently serving as the Cybersecurity Innovation Director at Thales since January 2018. In this role, Joel leads efforts to enhance cybersecurity measures within the Digital Identity & Security global business unit, with responsibilities that include research on new technologies and vendor benchmarking. Previous positions at Thales include Chief Information Security Officer and CTO for IoT and Automotive, focusing on risk assessment, technical roadmaps, and innovation strategies. Prior to Thales, Joel held various leadership roles at Sequans Communications, including VP of Product & Program Management and Director of Customer Solutions Engineering. Joel began a career at Juniper Networks and EADS, where foundational work in software development was established. Joel holds a PhD and an M.Sc. in Image Processing from Télécom Paris, underpinning a strong technical background in computer science and telecommunications.
