Andrew Smith has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Andrew worked as a Master Teacher Mentor at Western University starting from 2019. Prior to this, they served in various roles at the Thames Valley District School Board, including School Principal, Co-Principal of a STEAM School, and Vice Principal from 1999 to 2019. Additionally, they were the Department Head of History and a History Teacher at the same school. Andrew also held leadership positions at the Ontario Principals' Council, where they served as the Past President and President of TVDSB OPC from 2017 to 2020, and as a Provincial Councilor from 2014 to 2016.

Andrew later pursued a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from Nipissing University from 1998 to 1999. Finally, they completed a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership from Western University, a degree they finished in 2010.
