Rosalfonso Bortoni, DSc, MBA has worked in a variety of roles in the audio industry since 1992. Rosalfonso has been a member and Secretary of the Audio Engineering Society Brazil Section since 1992. From 2004 to 2012, they were a Distributor and Technical Support for Klippel GmbH, and from 2005 to 2012 they were an IC Test Engineering Manager and Sr. Audio Applications Engineer for THAT Corporation. From 2009 to 2011 they were the Lead Guitarist, Composer, and Arranger for Insanity Suite, and from 2011 to 2017 they were the Lead Guitarist and Arranger for Lee Villaire Band. In 2012, they became an Applications Engineer Consultant for Audio Precision, and in 2013 they became the Audio, Video and Intercom Manager for the Organising Committee for the Rio 2016™ Olympic and Paralympic Games. In 2017, they became a Sr. Applications Engineer Consultant for THAT Corporation, and Managing Director for Bortoni Technology, where they are responsible for audio products development, evaluation, improvement, and specification, as well as amplifier and loudspeaker designs and Audio Science Academy™ courses and training.
Rosalfonso Bortoni, DSc, MBA has an extensive educational background. Rosalfonso obtained a Master's degree in Class A, B, AB, G, and H Audio Power Amplifier Output Stages Dimensioning from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in 1999. Rosalfonso then went on to obtain a Doctorate's degree in Current-Driven Loudspeakers from the same institution in 2005. In 2006, they completed a Specialization in Low-noise and Advanced Analog IC Design from the EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). In 2008, they completed a Specialization in Low Power Analog VLSI from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Rosalfonso then obtained a Post-Doctorate's degree in Analog IC Design / Hearing Aids R&D from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas in Business Administration and Management, General. In 2014, they completed a Specialization in Sports Administration from the Brazilian Olympic Institute. In 2018, they completed a Sound Engineering University Course from the Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia in Audio & Sound Systems. Additionally, they have obtained a number of certifications, including a Dante Domain Manager Technical Training from Audinate in October 2019.
