Monica P. Band

Monica P. Band has extensive experience in the field of counseling and mental health education. Currently serving as a Subject Matter Expert for both The Jed Foundation and The AAKOMA Project, Monica focuses on emotional health and accessibility to mental health resources for youth. As the Owner and Licensed Professional Counselor at Mindful Healing Counseling in Washington D.C., Monica provides individual counseling for various mental health issues. Previous academic roles include Adjunct Professor and Assistant Professor at Marymount University, where Monica taught numerous courses related to counseling, and served as a Doctoral Student Clinical Supervisor. With a Doctor of Education in Counselor Education and Supervision from Marymount University, Monica has also contributed to vocational rehabilitation and community treatment programs in various capacities throughout their career.
