Claire Karekezi

Claire Karekezi is a highly experienced Senior Consultant in Neurosurgery specializing in Adult Brain Tumors and Skull Base Surgery at Rwanda Military Referral and Teaching Hospital, where Claire also serves as the Head of the Neurosurgery Unit. Claire holds a prominent role as a Medical Board Member at Mission:BRAIN and actively participates in various committees for the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies, including Women In Neurosurgery and NeuroOncology. In addition to clinical practice, Claire is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Rwanda, where Claire teaches surgical skills necessary for neurosurgeons. Claire is committed to education and innovation in neurosurgery, serving as an International Faculty Expert at IRCAD Africa and holding significant leadership positions in multiple organizations, including the Rwanda Medical and Dental Council and the Society For Neuro-Oncology Subsaharan Africa. Claire's extensive educational background includes fellowships and training at prestigious institutions such as the University of Toronto and Harvard University.
