Shabnam Safa is an experienced community development professional with a focus on refugee and migrant advocacy. Currently serving as the National Training Lead for Community Learning and Development at Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia and as an Advisory Council Member with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Shabnam has been actively involved in various capacities such as Chairperson of the National Refugee-led Advisory and Advocacy Group (NRAAG) and Director on the Board of the Centre for Multicultural Youth. Prior experience includes a role as a Board Member for Metropolitan Partnerships and multiple project officer positions dedicated to youth leadership and sector capability enhancement. Shabnam co-founded ReConnect, an app-based platform for bridging knowledge gaps between refugees and host communities, and the Noor Foundation Inc. Shabnam holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Neuroscience from Swinburne University of Technology, supplemented by further studies in social entrepreneurship at Babson College.
