Pauline Williams CBE, FMedSci is an accomplished leader in medical research and development, currently serving as Co-chair of the AMS FLIER programme at The Academy of Medical Sciences since November 2023. With a tenure as a Council Member at the Medical Research Council from March 2017 to May 2023, Williams contributed to the governance and strategy of this key UK research organization. Previous roles include Board Member at ViiV Healthcare, where the focus was on HIV medicines, and extensive leadership positions at GSK, including Senior Vice President in various divisions dedicated to global health, maternal and neonatal health, and neurology. Williams also has a foundational background in clinical research, having held positions at Glaxo Wellcome and Covance, and started in the NHS. Williams earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Cardiff University in 1990.
