Pavel Kubáň

Council Member at The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic

Pavel Kubáň received the title of Mgr. in Mathematics and Chemistry at Masaryk University in Brno (1998), Ph.D. in analytical chemistry at Mendel University in Brno (2001), RNDr. in Analytical Chemistry at Palacký University in Olomouc (2010) and DSc. in analytical chemistry awarded by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (2015). He currently works as the head of the Department of Electromigration Methods at the Institute of Analytical Chemistry of the ASCR.

His scientific work is mainly focused on the study of capillary electrophoresis, liquid phase microextraction and their connection for direct analysis of samples with complex matrices. He is the author or co-author of more than 100 original scientific articles, review articles and chapters in professional books and more than 60 papers at international scientific conferences. He is a member of the editorial team of the journals Separation Science Plus (Wiley) and Talanta Open (Elsevier) and also the Vice-Chairman of the Scientific Board of the Institute of Analytical Chemistry of the ASCR. Throughout his career, he actively participates in both research and the education of the young scientific generation, and its results are regularly published in prestigious international scientific journals and presented in the form of so-called lectures at international scientific conferences.
