Angela Ferelli Gruber is a seasoned professional in food safety and microbiology, currently serving as the Food Safety Manager at The Acheson Group since August 2022. Previously, Angela worked as a contractor with the University of Maryland Extension, developing online course materials for food safety and business management. Angela’s extensive experience at the University of Maryland included roles as a Program Specialist, where education and technical assistance were provided to Maryland farmers, and as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on experimental methods and food safety issues leading to publication and research funding. Angela also contributed to molecular biology research at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute and the University of Delaware, supporting studies on Escherichia coli and foodborne pathogens, in addition to an internship at DuPont developing PCR screening methods. Angela holds a Ph.D. in Plant Sciences from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Food Science from the University of Delaware.
