Barbara Penning has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Barbara began their career as a General Manager at Burdines in 1986 and gained valuable experience in managing operations. In 1992, they joined Elder Beerman Stores as an SVP Regional, where they continued to excel in a leadership role until 1998. Barbara then moved on to Jacobson Stores INC, where they served as the SVP Regional Director of Stores for four years. In 2002, they joined Galyans Sports and Outdoor Adventure as a Store Manager, overseeing the store's operations until 2006. Currently, Barbara is the Director of Volunteer Programs and In Kind Donations at the Action Center, a position they have held since November 2009. Prior to this role, they were the Volunteer Coordinator/Manager at the Action Center from 2007 to November 2009. Overall, Barbara Penning has demonstrated extensive experience in managerial positions and has a strong background in volunteer coordination and management.

Barbara Penning holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Sociology, and Math from Maryville University of Saint Louis. Additionally, they have studied Sociology and Political Science at Saint Louis University.
