Thomas Borchard Phr

Thomas Borchard, PHR, SHRM-CP has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Thomas currently serves as the Managing Director of HR & Administration at Entertainment Community Fund, where they are responsible for establishing and implementing HR policies, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and professional development. Prior to this role, they worked at the Clinton Foundation as the Director of Operations, overseeing the New York office and managing operational, safety, and security matters. Thomas was also a Human Resources & Operations Senior Manager at the Clinton Global Initiative. Thomas previously held positions at Briggs Inc, where they managed the administrative department and served as an Events Manager. In their early career, they worked as an AEA Stage Manager for multiple companies.

Thomas Borchard, PHR, SHRM-CP has a comprehensive education history in the fields of human resources, employment relations, and technical theatre.

Thomas completed their Master of Professional Studies degree in Human Resources and Employment Relations from Penn State University, attending from 2013 to 2015. Prior to this, they pursued a Professional Certificate in Human Resources from Cornell University, spanning 2011 to 2012.

Thomas also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology, which they obtained from Skidmore College between 1993 and 1997. Thomas laid the foundation for their educational journey at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, NY, where they completed their high school diploma from 1989 to 1993.

In addition to their academic achievements, Thomas has obtained several certifications to further enhance their expertise. These certifications include the LifeLabs Learning Community Builder from LifeLabs Learning, acquired in May 2023, the Notary Public certification from the State of New York, earned in May 2015, the SHRM-CP certification from SHRM, earned in January 2015, and the Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) certification from the HR Certification Institute-HRCI in January 2014.
