David Zipper advises startups, mayors, and transit agencies on the future of cities, including the American Public Transportation Association, the City of Akron, TransLink, and TransitScreen. His writing about trends in urban mobility has been widely published.
Previously David was the Managing Director for Smart Cities and Mobility at 1776, a global entrepreneurial hub and the Director of Business Development and Strategy under two Washington DC mayors, where he oversaw support to Washington’s first startup incubators and guided the city's response to ride hail.
David has also served as Executive Director of NYC Business Solutions under Mayor Bloomberg. Selected as a Truman Scholar and a Gates Scholar, he holds an MBA with highest honors from Harvard Business School, a M.Phil from the University of Cambridge, and a BA with High Honors from Swarthmore College.
