Tanya Thiessen

Tanya Thiessen is currently serving as the Executive Staff Officer at The Alberta Teachers' Association since April 2021. Previously, Tanya held the position of Principal Pre-K-12 at the Canadian International School of Guangzhou from August 2017 to July 2020, and as a Principal at Elk Island Catholic Schools from September 2012 to June 2017. Tanya earned their Masters in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services from the University of Alberta in 2011, following their Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from the same university in 2005.
