Pete Kelly is a seasoned professional in the life sciences sector, currently serving as Co-Founder and Head of Science at The Align Foundation since November 2022, where the focus is on enhancing the reproducibility, scalability, and shareability of life sciences. In early 2023, Pete held the position of Staff Automation Applications Scientist at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc., leading the Applications Team for automation solutions. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Zymergen from July 2014 to January 2023, where Pete led a team to advance automation technologies. Earlier roles include Research Associate at the Joint BioEnergy Institute and the Ruth Richardson Lab at Cornell University, along with experience as a Research Assistant at the Marine Biological Laboratory. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Cornell University.
