Tony Bennett Shivers

Tony Bennett Shivers is a seasoned professional in government relations and advocacy, currently serving as the Government Relations Officer at the American Academy of Arts & Sciences since January 2024. Shivers has a diverse background with significant roles, including Director of Government Affairs at Dance/USA and OPERA America, where contributions focused on advancing the arts and education sectors. Prior experience includes serving as Principal at Shivers Consulting, Director of State Education Policy at United Way, and various leadership roles at national organizations such as the National Association of State Boards of Education and the American Psychiatric Association.
