Ann Dorough

Director, Component Engagement at The American Institute of Architects

Ann Dorough, CAE, serves as the Director of Component Engagement at The American Institute of Architects (AIA), a position held since June 2013, where strategic development and guidance are provided to 210 AIA chapters globally, focusing on enhancing member services amidst significant changes in the architectural profession. Previously, Ann was the Executive Director of AIA Potomac Valley & Potomac Valley Architecture Foundation, managing strategic operations and relations for architects in Maryland. Additionally, experience includes roles as a board member and president for Friends of the Library Montgomery County, outreach and marketing advisor for Bethesda Green, and marketing specialist at Uekman / Architects, LLC. Ann's early career includes community relations at Barnes & Noble and legislative assistance for U.S. Representative Patsy T. Mink. Ann holds a B.A. in Journalism from Marquette University.
