Austin Peterson, BSArch, MPP, currently serves as the Senior Manager of Business Operations at The American Institute of Architects (AIA) since October 2022. Prior to this role, Austin held various positions at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, including Graduate Teaching Assistant for PLCY 313 and Graduate Social Director for the Policy Student Government Association. Austin's earlier experiences include a Policy Intern role at the National Housing Trust, as well as multiple leadership and committee positions within the American Institute of Architecture Students. An architectural internship and support role in the Dean's Office at the University of Minnesota College of Design complemented an academic background in architecture and public policy, with advanced degrees from the University of Maryland. Austin also has experience in customer service and team supervision from working in a senior living facility.
