Brian Proffitt

Brian Proffitt is an experienced professional with extensive roles in community outreach, marketing, and editorial management within the technology sector. Currently serving as VP of Conferences and Vice President of Marketing and Publicity at the Apache Software Foundation, Brian plays a key role in organizing events and managing brand messaging. At Red Hat, Brian has held several positions since December 2013, focusing on promoting open source initiatives and community engagement. Previous experience includes positions as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Notre Dame and Community Marketing Manager at SUSE, along with editorial roles at ReadWrite and Jupitermedia. Brian's foundational expertise was further developed through diverse roles in quality control at AIMCO and editorial work at Macmillan Computer Publishing.
