Michele Petrella has extensive experience in grants management, working with organizations such as The Arc of the United States and The Y in Central Maryland. With a background in social work and management, Michele has been involved in writing grants, building budgets, managing relationships with funders, and overseeing grant-related processes. Michele took a sabbatical in 2020 to focus on family and career planning but remains committed to the health & human services field. Michele's impact has touched over 1,700 children in low-income households through comprehensive early childhood programs.

The Arc is the largest national community-based organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. With approximately 140,000 members affiliated through over 600 state and local chapters across the nation, we are on the front lines to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families have the support and services they need to be fully engaged in their communities. The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with I/DD and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.
