Steve Acerno is an experienced social worker with a diverse background in family and children supports. Since January 2020, Steve has served as the Director of Family and Children Supports and the Director of Treatment Foster Care at The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region. In addition, Steve has been practicing as a Therapist and Owner in private practice since February 2011, providing individual and family therapy, particularly to teens and couples, in Harford County. Prior to these roles, Steve worked as a Foster Care Supervisor for Baltimore County from October 2006 to January 2020. Steve holds a Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University and a bachelor's degree from Rider University.

The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region assists people with developmental disabilities to identify and pursue personally valued lives. The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region is a private, non-profit local chapter of The Arc of Maryland and The Arc of The United States, the largest volunteer organization in the world devoted exclusively to improving the quality of life for all adults and children with mental retardation and their families. It is an affiliate agency of The United Way of Central Maryland and The United Way of Cecil County.
