The Arc of the Capital Area
Kristin Deakyne is an experienced adult case manager at The Arc of the Capital Area, where Kristin has been employed since September 2015. Prior to this role, Kristin worked as a barista at Starbucks and as a member services representative at Planet Fitness. Kristin also served as a program leader at Think Together, where classroom management and tutoring were key responsibilities. An internship at The Arc of Riverside County involved educating stakeholders about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Kristin holds a Master of Science in Human Services, with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Liberty University School of Behavioral Sciences, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California Baptist University.
The Arc of the Capital Area
We serve over 2,000 individuals and families in 17 counties with disabilities such as Down syndrome and Autism. We help these adults remain at home instead of being institutionalized and provide an array of services that allow them to live independently. We provide them with training, education and employment skills so that they can become productive and contributing members of society. Eighty-six cents of every dollars that we raise goes towards client care, saving the state of Texas millions of dollars. We pride ourselves on promoting independence and choice for these individuals. For over 70 years, we have removed obstacles for these individuals and given hope to their families. We are a place that parents can drop their adult child off and be confident knowing that these individuals are learning, socializing and having fun daily.
