Sean McCarthy

Sean McCarthy is the Director of Development at The Arc of the Farmington Valley, Inc. "Favarh," a role held since November 2021. Previously, Sean served as a Graduate Student at Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy from August 2020 to July 2021 and as Associate Director of Program Development for Oxbridge Academic Programs, where responsibilities included coordinating logistics for summer study abroad programs and recruiting faculty. Prior experience includes working as an Assistant Language Teacher with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program, instructing over 300 students, and as a Teacher Trainer with the Peace Corps, focusing on improving the skills of 450 pre-service teachers. Sean also held administrative roles at Allied World Reinsurance Company and Alliances By Alisa. An internship at Favarh in 2014 involved grant writing and social media strategy development. Sean holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Marist College and studied abroad at Macquarie University.
