Thomas Oberst is an experienced professional in the fields of physics and proposal development, currently serving as the Director of Proposal Development at Astrobotic since September 2019. Previously, Thomas held the role of Senior Proposal Manager and contributed as a Founding Board Member at the Moonshot Museum from 2020 to 2023. Thomas's experience with NASA includes membership in the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) Follow-up Working Group from 2018 to 2020. Prior to these roles, Thomas was the Director of the Astronomy Program, Director of the Planetarium, and Professor of Physics at Westminster College (PA) from 2008 to 2019. Earlier in Thomas's career, experience included positions at McKinsey & Company as an Insight Engineering and Science Fellow, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as a Graduate Research Program Fellow, and Cornell University as a Science Writer for the Office of University Relations. Thomas holds a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Physics from Cornell University, as well as dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and Mathematics from Duquesne University.
