Director Of Anti-hate at The Asian American Foundation

Andy Kang has a diverse work experience spanning different organizations and roles. Currently, they are the National Director of Anti-Hate at The Asian American Foundation, a position they started in 2023. Prior to this, from 2021 to 2023, they served as the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition. Andy has also worked at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago, starting as a Senior Staff Attorney in 2011 and progressing to become the Legal Director and eventually the Executive Director. Additionally, Andy has served as a Commissioner on the Board of Commissioners, Chicago Commission on Human Relations, from 2012 to 2016. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Staff Attorney at the Legislative Reference Bureau and as a Contract Attorney at Special Counsel. Andy began their legal career as an Associate at Wilson Elser and later at Bingham McCutchen.

Andy Kang attended Lake Forest Academy from 1993 to 1995, where they completed their high school education. Andy then studied Political Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1995 to 1999, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Andy went on to pursue a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law from 1999 to 2002.
