Mariana Matus

Henry Crown Fellow at The Aspen Institute

Mariana Matus, PhD, is a prominent leader in public health and biotechnology, currently serving as a Member of the Boston Chapter of YPO and a Henry Crown Fellow at The Aspen Institute. As the CEO and Cofounder of Biobot Analytics since 2017, Mariana Matus has pioneered wastewater epidemiology, aiming to create a global public health monitoring network. Conducting research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mariana Matus earned a PhD in Computational and Systems Biology, specializing in wastewater-based epidemiology under the guidance of Prof. Eric Alm. Educational background includes a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Wageningen University & Research and a Bachelor’s in Genome Sciences/Genomics from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Mariana Matus also participated in the W18 batch of Y Combinator in 2018.
