Sarina Beges-Thysen serves as the Associate Director for the Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation at The Aspen Institute, focusing on strategic philanthropy and facilitating discussions among foundation leaders. Previously, Sarina held the role of Executive Director at the Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen Foundation, where a strategic vision was established to enhance online educational resources in philanthropy. Experience also includes a tenure as Interim Director of Partnerships and External Relations at Stanford PACS, where a significant philanthropy summit was organized, and as Associate Director at the Stanford Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law, overseeing operations and launching leadership programs. Sarina's career began as Program Manager for Synergos, directing a USAID-funded initiative for social entrepreneurs in the MENA region. Sarina holds an MA in Middle East Studies and International Economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a BA in International Relations from Boston University.
