Stephanie Charman is an experienced leader in the mortgage and financial services industry, currently serving as Chief Executive at The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries since February 2025. Prior to this role, Stephanie Charman held various positions at Sesame Bankhall Group from September 2017 to February 2025, including Group Partnerships & Propositions Director and Strategic Relationships Director. Additionally, Stephanie Charman was the Director of Mortgages at Positive Lending for a brief period in 2017 and spent over 15 years at Mortgage Intelligence, ultimately as Head of Mortgages and Insurance. Early career experiences include a role as Customer Service Administrator at Abbey Life Assurance from September 1997 to July 1999. Education was completed at Avonbourne School between 1991 and 1996.

AMI is the trade body representing UK mortgage intermediaries. We act to maintain a positive and ethical business environment for our members by working with politicians, regulators and other industry bodies. Our objective is to promote the provision of good advice as an essential part of a healthy market for mortgages, which operates in the interests of consumers. Our current policy priorities are: 1. Housing which supports consumer needs whether that be ownership or rental 8. Product innovation in the later life market 9. Quality of examination standards which support high quality, full, mortgage advice 10. The fraud and quality agenda 11.
