Andrew Aoyama

Andrew Aoyama currently serves as the Deputy Managing Editor at The Atlantic since June 2021, having previously held the position of Assistant Editor. Prior to this role, Andrew worked at The Harvard Crimson from September 2017 to December 2020, where responsibilities included leading a 50-person team as Magazine Chair, editing long-form investigative stories, and earning multiple accolades, including the Society of Professional Journalists Region I Mark of Excellence Award in 2019. Andrew's experience also includes serving as Staff Writer and Associate Magazine Editor and Training Director at The Crimson, focusing on training new reporters and editing stories. Academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in History & Literature and Near Eastern Languages & Civilizations from Harvard University, complemented by participation in the National Security Language Initiative for Youth.
