Jim Katsifolis

Jim Katsifolis is a highly experienced professional with a strong background in technology and innovation, currently serving as Chief Scientist and Director of FFT Technical Innovation at Ava Group since July 2021. Previously, Jim held several key positions, including CTO at Sentient Vision Systems, where efforts focused on advanced computer vision and AI solutions, and CTO of the Technology Division at Ava Group, which involved leading R&D teams and managing intellectual property strategies. Jim's extensive experience also includes a long tenure at Future Fibre Technologies, where roles ranged from VP of Research & Development to Senior Fibre Systems Engineer, contributing significantly to product development and innovation. Educational credentials include a PhD in Photonics from La Trobe University and dual Master's degrees in Astronomy and Engineering from Swinburne University and RMIT University, respectively.
