Shloka Bhakta

Shloka Bhakta is currently working as Advocacy Co-Lead at The Backpack Project, Inc. and as a Resident Assistant at Duke University. They also serve as a Researcher for Bass Connections at Duke University, focusing on racial disparities in emergency department return after orthopaedic surgery. Prior to these roles, they worked as a Biological Sciences Intern at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where they contributed to engineering enzymes to enhance the degradation of plastic waste. Shloka has a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences from Duke University and completed their high school education at Mandela International Magnet School.
