Lauro Jauregui is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience across various organizations, currently serving as Finance Manager at The Bail Project since June 2019, where significant improvements to the financial reconciliation process and budgeting models were implemented. Prior experience includes roles at USAA, where Lauro held positions such as Lead Financial Analyst, managing multi-year financial forecasts and overseeing the Business Case Analytics Team, and providing strategic financial analysis for projects exceeding $600 million. Lauro's earlier career features consultancy at the North American Development Bank and key management roles at the Trade Commission of Mexico, Banco Nacional de Comercio Exterior, and other financial institutions. Lauro holds an MBA from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and an MBA Certificate from Tulane University, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Tecnológico de Monterrey.

The Bail Project is a non-profit organization designed to combat mass incarceration by disrupting the money bail system ‒ one person at a time.They believe that paying bail for someone in need is an act of resistance against a system that criminalizes race and poverty and an act of solidarity with local communities and movements fordecarceration. Over the next five years, The Bail Project will open dozens of sites in high-need jurisdictions with the goal of paying bail for tens of thousands of low-income people.They won’t stop until meaningful change is achieved and the presumption of innocence is no longer for sale.
