Audrey Cooper

Audrey Cooper is an experienced journalism leader currently serving as the Editor in Chief at Baltimore Banner since October 2025. Prior to this role, Cooper held the position of Senior Vice President of News and Editor in Chief at New York Public Radio from July 2020 to October 2025, where a significant transformation of the newsroom was achieved through strategic editorial and cultural changes. Cooper's tenure at the San Francisco Chronicle and SFGATE from June 2006 to July 2020 included roles such as Executive Editor and Managing Editor, driving digital expansion and financial improvements within a large newsroom. Earlier career experiences include various editorial positions at The Record and a reporting role at the Associated Press. Audrey Cooper holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science from Boston University.
