Hau Chu

Hau Chu is a seasoned food, arts, and culture reporter currently employed by the Baltimore Banner since August 2025, where responsibilities include reporting and writing features and multimedia projects focused on the dining and cultural landscape of Montgomery County. Previously, Hau Chu held various reporting roles at The Washington Post from May 2016 to August 2025, covering local issues across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, as well as contributing to features on diversity in pop culture. Additional experience includes serving as Digital Content Producer at the New York Daily News and Editor-in-Chief of Fourth Estate at George Mason University, where leadership and editorial skills were developed. Early career highlights include a public affairs internship at the Minority Business Development Agency and a managerial position at The Dairy Godmother. Hau Chu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and International Politics from George Mason University.
