Omar James

Omar James is a Systems Engineer - Trainee at The Barbados Light & Power Company Limited, where involvement began in August 2020. Prior experience includes a role as a Trainee Engineer at Barbados Port Inc from April 2017 to August 2020 and a teaching position at Queen's College Secondary School from January 2017 to April 2017. Omar also completed an Engineering Internship at The Banks Holdings Limited (BHL) Group in July 2015, contributing to cost reduction projects within the Asset Care Team. Additional internship experience includes working at Arawak Cement Co Ltd in August 2014, focusing on preventative maintenance and repairs during plant shutdowns. Educational qualifications consist of a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus (2013-2016) and an Associate's degree in Natural Sciences from Queen's College Secondary School (2005-2012).
