Rolph Payet

Rolph Payet serves as the Executive Secretary of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Convention Secretariat since October 2014, overseeing the implementation of the conventions' strategies and acting as an advisor to the UNEP Executive Director and convention leadership. Previously, Rolph Payet was the Minister of Environment and Energy in Seychelles, managing several key environmental and energy agencies, and held roles such as President & Vice-Chancellor of the University of Seychelles, Special Advisor to the President, and Interim Coordinator of the Nairobi Convention with UNEP. Rolph Payet has a robust academic background, holding multiple degrees, including a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and an MBA, from renowned institutions such as Harvard and the University of London.
