Henry C. Beck III

Executive Chairman at The Beck Group

Peter’s appreciation for integrated design and construction began while pursuing a combined program in architecture and engineering at Princeton. As Beck’s Executive Chairman, Peter’s schedule stays full identifying new clients, working with existing clients, advising our leadership team and serving as a mentor to our people. Peter worked full-time at Beck for two years before departing for business school. He rejoined the firm in 1981 after completing his MBA at Stanford and served as project manager on various projects. He assumed responsibility for the firm as CEO in the early 1990s, enabling him to pursue his passion for integrating the disciplines. He brought together a management team committed to achieving order-of-magnitude improvements in project costs, schedule and design quality through integrating design and construction. In 1999, Beck merged with a 40-person architecture firm and began to build a design practice in each office. Peter is a nationally recognized speaker and writer on the value of integration and the influence of technology on the building industry. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Southwestern Medical Foundation, The Salvation Army’s DFW Metroplex Command Advisory Board and the Design Futures Council. He was previously chair of The Dallas Foundation and the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission and the Stanford Business School Trust. Based in Dallas, Peter enjoys spending time away from work fishing and hunting in the great outdoors.
