Serene Koh

Director, Singapore at The Behavioural Insights Team

Serene Koh is an accomplished academic and professional with extensive experience in behavioral science and education. Currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions since April 2024, Koh also holds the position of Director and Head of BIT-Singapore at The Behavioural Insights Team, where tenure began in October 2016. Previous roles include Senior Assistant Director at the Ministry of Communications and Information from November 2012 to October 2016, and Research Specialist at the University Center for the Development of Language and Literacy from April 2011 to June 2012. Koh began the academic journey as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan - School of Education from January 2005 to May 2010, followed by a position as a Writer at Columbia University's National Center for Children in Poverty (July 2006 - July 2007). Koh holds a Ph.D. in Education and an M.A. in Research Methodology and Quantitative Methods from the University of Michigan, as well as a BA Honours in English Language and Literature from the National University of Singapore.
