Shannon is also a Doctoral Candidate at UNSW, focusing on the research topic "Disruptive Bodies: Interrogating the Gender Binary in Family Violence Policy and Practice." Shannon holds a Master of Letters in Peace & Conflict Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Government & International Relations from the University of Sydney.
