As Vice President of Development, Mr. Rooney oversees all aspects of their development practice. He is responsible for the development efforts commencing from the point of raw land acquisition through rezoning, master planning, entitlements, design, and construction. His work focuses on promoting sustainable transit-oriented, mixed-use, walkable development within The Bernstein Company's private DC portfolio. Before joining The Bernstein Companies in 2007, Mr. Rooney was President of a commercial real estate development services company that managed numerous multi-family construction projects throughout the mid-Atlantic.
Greg has a B.A. in International Relations from Connecticut College. He is very active in local politics and in civic and charitable organizations in and around the Washington area. He has focused much of his professional career to promote sustainable business practices to reduce the use of natural resources and improve energy efficiency. He is a Trustee of NAIOP DC/MD, The Bethesda Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce and Bethesda Green (Past President).
