Alexandros Armaos is a bioinformatics expert with extensive experience in developing and implementing bioinformatics tools. Currently serving as a Bioinformatics Consultant at The Bioinformatics CRO since November 2021 and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia since February 2020, Alexandros has developed significant tools such as the catRAPID V2 suite for Protein-RNA interaction characterization and a pipeline for in-silico aptamer design. Previous experience includes a PhD at the Centre for Genomic Regulation, where Alexandros focused on Protein-RNA interaction prediction and RNA Secondary Structure profiling using artificial neural networks. Early career experience includes an internship at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens, developing advanced bioinformatics tools, and a web development internship supported by the ERASMUS program at the University of Lisbon. Alexandros holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a degree in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras, Greece.
