Joana Maia

Joana Maia is an experienced professional in the field of cosmetic science with a diverse background in academia and industry. Currently serving as an Assistant Lecturer in MSc Cosmetic Science at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, Joana has also been a Product Development Chemist at The Body Shop since April 2021. Joana's previous roles include Junior Formulation Scientist and Lab Technician at Pangaea Laboratories, as well as a Public Relations Intern at EBW PR, where Joana provided scientific consulting for beauty and skincare brands. Joana has interned at Farmácia Ideal, contributing to sales and stock management, and developed a cytotoxic drug emergency protocol during an internship at CUF Infante Santo Hospital. Joana's academic background includes a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon, alongside marketing and business management training, and a diploma in Cosmetic Science from The Society of Cosmetic Sciences.
