Randy Yu

Randy Yu has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Randy started their career as a Mechanical Design Engineer Assistant at General Motors from October 2009 to November 2011. During this time, they were responsible for the structural design of various products and implemented improvement plans for product designs. Randy also conducted reliability experiments and risk analysis for product structures.

In 2012, Randy joined Tesla as a Design Engineer, where they developed an excel model to identify optimal electricity rate structures for electric vehicles and storage systems. Randy analyzed and presented on various policy stances related to vehicle grid integration, disaster management, and EV-ready building codes. Randy also evaluated transportation electrification plans and electric vehicle policies across different markets.

Since March 2017, Randy has been working at The Boring Company as a Software Application Engineer. Randy architects, develops, and deploys software applications, collaborating with multiple teams within the company to increase productivity. Randy has expertise in modern JavaScript tools, web development, and cloud technologies.
