Ben Axelrod

Ben Axelrod is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in robotics and automation. Currently employed at The Boston Dynamics AI Institute since December 2022, Ben previously held notable positions at iRobot from June 2010 to December 2022, where roles included Principal Robotics Software Engineer and Research Scientist, focusing on autonomous robotic manipulation and human-robot interaction. Prior experience includes robotics engineering at CoroWare Technologies, a graduate research assistantship at Georgia Institute of Technology developing a tele-operated rescue robot, and a software development internship at Microsoft. Ben also contributed to product design and development as a mechanical engineer at Iguana Robotics and began a career in engineering with an internship at Paper Machinery Corporation. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University.
