Matt Martone

Matt Martone is a seasoned robotics hardware engineer currently employed at The AI Institute, focusing on hardware design and development for manipulation and limbed robotics. Prior experience includes serving as a staff mechanical engineer at Boston Dynamics, where Matt contributed to the mechanical design of the E-Atlas humanoid robot and was involved in the product development of the Stretch robot. Earlier roles at the Biorobotics Lab included mechanical design, coding, and training new students, while initial internships at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory involved the design and testing of various mechanisms for space exploration robotics. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Robotics and dual Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, all from Carnegie Mellon University.
