Russ Fischer began their work experience in 2005 as a Contributing Editor for Yahoo, where they wrote daily news, reviews, and features and coordinated coverage for trade shows. From 2009 to 2015, they served as the Managing Editor for /Film, where they managed a team of writers and developed the site's voice as a tastemaker in geek culture and film. In 2015, they worked as a Film Critic and Feature Writer for various clients including Rolling Stone and Los Angeles Times. From 2016 to 2017, they held multiple roles at Movie Pilot Inc., including Editor in Chief and Senior Editor, where they led editorial teams, refined brand voice, and analyzed traffic and analytics for expansion opportunities. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Content Manager for Creators Media, overseeing content partnerships and managing a team of freelance writers. Currently, they are the Editorial Director at The Boxoffice Company, where they oversee the development of editorial content and co-hosts The Boxoffice Podcast.
Russ Fischer earned a Bachelor's degree in History and Film from Brandeis University, which was completed between 1990 and 1994.
