Sheila Harris

VP, Patient Access Services at The Brigham And Women's Hospital, Inc.

Sheila Harris serves as Vice President of Patient Access Services, a role she assumed in February of 2021, where she oversees Patient Access Services. Working closely with senior leaders, Harris is responsible for strategic planning for patient access at the Brigham and across the Mass General Brigham system. Harris also works closely on revenue cycle operations and partners with leaders across the Brigham to advance operations related to the delivery of high-quality care.

Harris started her career at the Brigham in 2010 as director for Patient Access Services where she successfully centralized the operating room scheduling and revenue teams across the Brigham. She was instrumental in the redesign of the community transfer program and the launch of the Access Center at the Brigham, which provides seamless access to referring providers for both Emergency Department and inpatient transfers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. In collaboration with revenue cycle leaders, she has also helped the Brigham achieve best-practice revenue cycle metrics and denial mitigation metrics. During the height of the initial COVID-19 surge in 2020, Harris led teams responsible for implementing patient and visitor screening processes, physical distancing efforts and the visitor policy.

Prior to joining the Brigham, Harris worked with hospital leaders across the country identifying new business opportunities to improve workflows within Patient Access, Revenue Cycle and Clinical processes. She previously served as Chair and Board Member at Mount Alvernia High School in Newton, MA and received her BS at Suffolk University in Boston, MA.
