Kristen Silfies

Kristen Silfies has extensive experience in education, currently serving as Assistant Head of School and Director of Curriculum and Instruction at The Bronx Charter School for Children since August 2016. Prior to this role, Kristen worked at The Urban Assembly, Inc. from September 2008 to July 2016 in various positions, including Administrative Intern, Mathematics Department Chair & Instructional Coach, and Mathematics Teacher. Additionally, Kristen was a Mentor Teacher at Bard College from September 2011 to June 2014 and served as a Corps Member Advisor and Corps Member with Teach for America between July 2008 and August 2013. Kristen holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, an MS in Teaching Mathematics from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education, and a BS in Accounting from Lehigh University College of Business.
